From Our Pastor

From Our Pastor

Thank you for your interest in Saint Agnes Parish.  Whether you are just “checking us out” or searching for a place to worship, we hope you find this website helpful.  To give you an idea of what we are all about, I will sum up our parish mission:

  • To be a welcoming, loving community,
  • To strengthen faith in adults, youth, and children,
  • To promote the respect for all human life, and
  • To witness the love of Christ through service.

At the center of our parish life is the Sunday Eucharist, which is the opportunity to encounter the Lord in Word and Sacrament.  It is here where we see who we are and where we begin to be more like the Body of Christ.

If you do visit us at one of our Masses, I hope that you will feel the warmth of our welcome.  Also, please introduce yourself to one of our priests or deacons.  They would be happy to meet with you and assist you in any way they can.

Again, welcome and thank you for visiting us!

Sincerely,
Father Mark Keene, Pastor

Becoming Catholic

Becoming Catholic

Have you ever wondered:  Is God calling you into a deeper relationship with Him?  Is there something missing in your life, in your family life?  Are you searching for something more in life; its meaning, its purpose?   Our Catholic faith community at Saint Agnes would welcome the opportunity to meet you and answer any questions you may have about our Catholic faith.  We would love to explore with you the truths of the Catholic faith and introduce you to the fellowship of our parish family through our RCIA (Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults).  The RCIA sessions are free and imply no commitment on your part to join the Catholic Church.  RCIA process is available to people who are not baptized, as well as those who are baptized Christians from Protestant or Evangelical backgrounds, or baptized Catholics who have not received their First Communion or Confirmation.
If you would like to learn more about the RCIA process, please contact Paula Fritz, the RCIA coordinator, or one of our priests.  Our parish office number is 859-431-1802.  If it is more convenient for you to call in the evening or on the weekend, Paula’s cell phone number is 859-760-5174.   Feel free also to email her at [email protected].

    Walking With Purpose

Do you desire to grow in your Catholic faith?  Do you seek connection with other women in our parish community?  We invite you to consider joining the Bible study “Walking with Purpose” this Fall.  Despite what the name implies, no walking is actually involved!  It's just fellowship, sharing faith, and learning how to better connect Mass with the rest of our week.  Weekly group sessions are starting on Tuesday, October 8th here at Saint Agnes.  There will be both a morning group that will meet from 10:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. and an evening group that will meet from 7:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.  Opening Your Heart, the foundational study, is a 22-week Bible study designed for women new to Walking with Purpose whether or not you have any Bible study experience.  You are welcome as you are to learn how the Scriptures apply to our everyday lives.  For questions or to RSVP please email [email protected] or contact Joan Thamann at 859-802-8167 or Maureen Osterhaus at 859-803-0458.  The cost for the study is $50 which includes the Opening Your Heart Study Guide.  Scholarships are available.  Please don’t let cost prevent you from coming!  You can also visit www.walkingwithpurpose.com for more information.  We’re excited to start and can’t wait to see you there!
