Dear St. Agnes Family,
As we begin our public worship together again this week I continue to provide lists of music and accompanying links to videos of the music for the benefit of those of you who are homebound or might not feel ready yet to come to church due to illness or other underlying conditions. Below is the list of music for Ascension and Memorial Day along with links to videos of the music. In addition I’ve attached pdfs of the worship aids for both Masses. A reminder that worship aids for the weekend Masses will also be inserted into the bulletins that will be passed out as you enter church. A couple of interesting notes to share with you…The link to “How Can I Keep from Singing” provides you with the entire album, “From An Indirect Love” by Ed Gutfreund. “How Can I Keep from Singing” begins at 19:50 on the video. This album was the very first record I ever played on as a session musician. I played mandolin on “How Can I Keep From Singing” and electric guitar, acoustic guitar, and I believe even some piano on the rest of the album. This was my first experience of Catholic liturgical music which ultimately led me to the Church. The recording of “We Remember” by Marty Haugen is the original studio recording from what was then Cookhouse studios and eventually became Creation Audio in Minneapolis, MN. That was my first of many sessions with Marty and David Haas and was the first session where I had to fly to get there. In fact it was my first plane flight. I played the electric guitar on this recording of “We Remember.” These early experiences of Marty’s and David’s music and my subsequent live work with them eventually led me to pursuing music ministry as my primary vocation which ultimately led me to St. Agnes.
Christ’s Peace and Blessings,
Bobby Fisher – Director of Music Ministries
