Holy Orders & Religious Life

The Sacrament of Holy Orders integrates a baptized man into the order of bishop, priest or deacon.  Through the Sacrament of Holy Orders, the Church continues the mission Jesus Christ entrusted to His apostles.  In and through these orders of ministerial priesthood, Christ builds up and leads his Church.  This sacrament is conferred only after an established time of discernment, formation, and prayer.  Any man interested in such a vocation is encouraged to speak with one of the parish priests or deacons and/or contact the Vocations Office at the Diocese of Covington.

Consecrated religious life is another important facet of the Catholic Church whereby a man or a woman vows to embrace the Evangelical counsels of chastity, poverty, and obedience (and in some cases stability) and live according to the mission and constitutions of an established religious institution.  Once again, any man or woman interested in such a vocation is encouraged to speak with one of the parish priests or deacons and/or contact the Vocations Office at the Diocese of Covington.
